Saturday morning brought new energy

Saturday morning brought new energy to an already eager bunch of trilobite hunters, and a good, hardy breakfast added energy to our bodies.  I don't know why, but food always tastes better cooked in the great out-of-doors.

The telescope was still set up from the night before,  and the kids got a kick out of experimenting with it while waiting for breakfast.

Erin is ready for the hunt!

Within walking distance from camp we found an exploration dig, without any no trespassing signs posted.  So that is where we started to hunt.  The kids were thrilled when we started to find bits and pieces of  trilobites.  After about 2 hours of successful hunting, we all got tired and begin to make our way back to camp for lunch.  Rachel and I were the last ones to get back.  On the way I got this great picture of her, and guess what?  She became my riding partner for long  trip back home.

She also made me give her a "pinky promise" that I would let her ride with me and grandma to Sherry's house the next day, as we were all going there to celebrate Mother's Day.

Rachel rides with us to Sherry's house.

a pinky promise is very serious business! glad you could keep the promise.

i just think food is better when someone else cooks it...whether outdoors or home or a restaurant!

WOW! Rachel has it all figured out! And tresspassing signs? When did it make a difference if they were posted or not! Ha ha. Looks like a very fun trip!
