Halloween imagination!

Happy Halloween!  What an activity to get all excited about!  This posting is all about decorations.  It seems that some little monsters stole my homemade pumpkins, thereby denying my little, spooky grandchildren the opportunity of enjoying them.  So I found a place setting at Big Lots, glued on a cardboard backing and attached it to a stake, hoping this would somehow make everything all-right with the grand-kids.

A couple days ago, while driving through the cemetery in which Mom is located, I noticed how imaginative some people had been in decorating the graves of loved ones; so I took some photos to share with my devoted readers, all three of you.  Ha Ha.

The following three pics are of the decorations on a house in our neighborhood.  At night, the demon's eyes light up and he sways back and forth from side to side.  He is really spooky!

If you haven't been in our neighborhood, you really need to come by.
1)  On Wyandotte is a wonderful display, of almost every type of debauchery imaginable.  2)  The above pics are on 525 E.  3)  The display on Annalynn is choreographed with music.

All you have to do is tune your FM radio to 99.9, and yes, the creator of this great display has created an electronic masterpiece, I believe; but the broadcast only reaches one block from the house, in any direction.

To get the full effect of these three displays, you need to come by at night.  You and your kids will be entertained, for sure.
Next up is Thanksgiving then Christmas.  I love this time of year with all it's celebrations.  Throw in the harvest, with homemade chili, hot chocolate, and lots of family and good friends, plus a little football action, and what do you have?  Life is great, isn't it?

Autumn fun

(Thanks Tammy!)Hey!  I really didn't take this picture of Brendan, but I couldn't help but include it with my fall photos.

We are fortunate indeed!

Last Saturday evening, Grandma Zucc and I made our way up to the First Presbyterian Church on South Temple to attend a concert featuring the Coral Arts Society of Utah.  Our good friend Debbie and her daughter Ashley, both altos, performed.

A famous local newscaster, Stering Poulson, was the MC.  He is also the director of this group, but on this occasion, Pastor Mike, lead the concert.

Sterling Poulson
I didn't realize it before tonight, but both these men have college degrees in music.  Pastor Mike even played a guitar during one of the selections.  It is really great to have wonderful community leaders who so graciously promote the arts in the Salt Lake area.

Our friends sang with their hearts, giving us great entertainment for the evening.  We are fortunate indeed!

Park City Moose and frog!

Hi, everyone!  My new pacemaker is working well enough for me to attempt this new posting.  Yesterday grandma and I took a drive to Park City in order to escape everyday life here in the valley, but just for a little while.

Looking for "high adventure," at the Tanger Outlet Mall, I couldn't help but see the above Moose.  He looks so colorful!  Almost like he could be ready to join the reindeer team at the north pole!

After leaving Tanger, we spotted another moose on Park City's main street, Park Ave.  This one's gender must be female, judging by the long hair and lipstick.  She is ready to saddled, for sure!

In Redstone, down by the freeway, sits this human size frog.  "I'll bet he drove up in the red sports car, and that he has been in the store.  Open door policy, you know."

LAND OF MYSTERY

The beauty of this land of mystery, called the Yucatan Peninsula, obviously has inspired many artists.  In a previous post I included one of the window murals on the front of the Mayaland Resort.  Following are the photos of all of them.

TANGERINES vs WATERMELONS

There is nothing like a beautiful day in late summer, especially when a grandchild is playing in a soccer game.  Rachael is on a team called the "Tangerines," and rightly so, because of the color of their uniforms.  "Watermelons" is the name of the other team.

I don't know if you can see them, but if you look closely, I believe there are little "rocks" embedded into her eyes.  If you don't know what rocks are, gaze deeply into her Aunt Sherry's eyes, and you will find out.

The sun was blinding, and Rachael had to shade her face often, but this little obstacle was not a problem as the game progressed.  I was surprised at how much teamwork there was this year as opposed to last year; even so, our girl showed great athletic ability when it came time for her to go after the ball.

Notice the determination on her face in the following photo.  She is not one to go unnoticed during intense play.

The next two pictures show Rachael attacking the ball, and then moving it to the goal.

We were all proud of her play.  I believe her mother was very happy and proud of her.  Water seems to hit the spot during this little time-out.  Notice that she is looming at the camera with great suspicion.

Rachael is posing while eating this candy snack.  One does have to keep up the blood/sugar level during a game.

Other spectators at the game were Erin and Jenna.

Also Rhonda and Jim.
